Will Dish ViP211k work with Movin View Stationary?

Postby ludlaj » Mon Feb 20, 2012 2:48 pm

Need some advice - we have a 2004 Monaco Knight that came with a Movin View Stationary unit (MV3500A). We would eventually like to upgrade this to an in-motion satelitte unit that would allow us to get HD channels. Given this, we are looking at signing up for the Dish Pay-As-You-Go option. We do not need or want a satalitte system at home, it will only be used in the RV. It appears that this program requires purchasing the ViP211k receiver. The Movin View is not listed as a model that will work with this program/receiver. I'm wondering if anyone knows if it would work, just not be able to utilize the HD channels, or if it simply would not work at all. I would like to sing up for a program and purchase a receiver that will work when we make the upgrade (perhaps next year).

Also - if anyone has any advice on signing up for the Dish pay as you go program, that would be great - sounds like many have had problems with getting this set up correctly through Dish.

ludlaj,

It could be possible to get HD with a MV depending on a few factors. First, we need to know if the unit has three or four mounting feet.

The system you have now would get satellites 119 and 110 for most standard definition (and even some high definition) programming, but you would have access to every channel available as long as it is being broadcast in SD.

The unit is still in storage, so I don't have access to it at the moment. I did check the manual and it shows 4 mounting feet, so lets go on the assumption that is correct. What does the number of mounting feet tell us?
