That makes the most sense as everything else checked out. There's no compatibility issues between the 2 types of receivers, there was likely just some bad electrical connection somewhere that created an intermittent issue. I am so glad to hear that it went bad and stayed bad until the tech replaced the receiver. Score one for the good guys!
