Dish won't lock on Sat 110

Postby KTWTX » Sun Jun 12, 2011 5:32 pm

We have the RoadTrip SDI dish on our RV. This last trip the dish would not lock on sat.110. It just kept searching. Has anyone ever encountered this problem?

I would love to hear from anyone with experience on this problem!

Thanks,
KT

Can you give additional details? Is your receiver showing 110, 119 and 129 with an SW64 switch? Has the unit worked properly in other locations? If you are getting 119 OK is there a possibility that there is an obstruction of some kind about 10 degrees to the left? Have you done a new check switch in this location?
Any additional information? DVR? Receiver model number? Only one or more than one tuner or receiver?

Thank you for replying so quickly. I will have to go to the RV to see about the SW64 Switch, but I spent about 2 hours on the internet with DISH Network tech Friday night before he told me the problem was my Winegard dish on the RV. I think this is one of the things they had me check several times.

Your other questions: We have tried the system in several locations with same results-no satellite 110.

I don't believe we receive 129 since we aren't HD.

Our Dish receiver is 311 & only one receiver.

I will have to go to the RV tomorrow to make sure about the SW64 Switch, after my husband gets it out of the barn.

Thanks,
KT

If you use a receiver that you take from the house and install in the RV then you are going to have to do a new check switch routine before the antenna/receiver will work properly. You install the receiver and then after it locks onto 119 you would do the check switch routine. This must be done after you have a good lock but before 6 minutes expires. Let us know if that resolves the issue.
