Switch settings

Postby spitfirepete » Sat May 14, 2011 11:43 am

I have a new RoadTrip in Motion antenna and am using Dish network. Going to set it up tomorrow.
Operation Manual calls for switches 1,4,7,8 down on page 3.
Tech Support told me 4,7,8 down, Sat 119, transponder 11.
Before I go up and set switches, anyone know why there is a difference?

The difference is how the satellite was installed, for instance if the coax cables are towards the front of the coach and the cables are towards the drivers side then you would need the number 1 in the down position. If the cables are going towardsa the rear of the coach, then 4,7 and 8 are in the down position. It has to do with the location of the electronics.

I believe it is in what location that you are in,because in instruction set up it has map that shows different switch setups for different parts of a state.

No, that is not correct, read the post above from Winegard. There is a different set of dip switches if you want to go Hybrid (110, 119, 61.5) if you are in the extreme NE or SE.
