Installation Question

Postby BobHDRV » Sun Sep 19, 2010 11:12 am

After downloading and reading the installation diagrams on the SK-3005 a question pops up that is not exactly clear to me.

It states in the diagram the Operational space should have nothing taller then 8" within a 68" diameter circle measured from the center of the unit. This statement is just below the drawing showing the measurements with the dish retracted. So my question is: When measuring from the center of the unit, is it referring to the center of the transition plate or the center of the measured area when it's folded down? This makes a big difference in my case because Fleetwood saw fit to mount their roof mounted ac units so close together.

From the center of the turret assembly. The 8" is refering to an object that may block the signal. As long as you're in the southern states this should never be an issue because your look angle will be higher. If you're in the more northern states you would want to be sure to park the RV so the object that may block the signal is not to the south of the SK-3005.
