New SK-3005 Slim HD DishI'd like to purchase and install a new SK3005 dish on my class A motorhome. When shopping I've found some dealers offering a SKA-008 optional mount for thin roof installations. Is this something that's recommended for most motorhomes? I don't know how thin my roof is, but I suppose it would depend on if you could attach into the metal braces built into the roof or not. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Re: New SK-3005 Slim HD DishIt is the owner's preference of whether or not to use the SKA-008. Travel trailers and 5th Wheels would be more likely to use it. If you think the roof is thin enough that the unit would be unstable, or damage the roof then I would recommend using the SKA-008.
Re: New SK-3005 Slim HD DishHello, I have used the ska-008 on the larger RV I have (40ft) and I did not use on the 38 Ft.. I would use the ska-008 , makes for solid mount..( I enlargeed the holes on plate before installing to use larger size alum threads) cltisdale
Re: New SK-3005 Slim HD DishThat's fine that you used larger threaded screws. The worst that will happen is you'll take off the paint. The base plate will be covered by the unit and then be sealed around anyway so no corrosion.
