High def...Ok so run me through this HD stuff again, I have some local channels that recently went HD, although I can't tell the differance, does that mean my carryout will not pick them up? Is there a differance between HD channels an HD satelites? I personally just wish they would keep it simple but I know it is all a money racket. I do not nor do I intend on paying extra for HD, but I am still a little confused about what channels my carryout is gonna pick up, I have Directv, I haven't had a real chance to play with my carryout yet because of the weather. You guys must be really patient you probably get the same ole questions over and over. Thanks again
Re: High def...Good morning mtnmanpop -
DIRECTV broadcasts all of their HD content on a satellite which is on a different band than all other typically used television satellites. Because of this you need a larger dish such as the Winegard TRAV'LER SK-3005 to acquire that signal. If you are attempting to watch your local channels in your home market this answer will vary depending on your location. Where we are located, DIRECTV broadcasts the locals on a spot beam on that HD satellite. 30 miles south of us they use a standard definition satellite. If they are using the HD satellite in your area you will need to sign-up for "National Locals" with DIRECTV. This will give you your ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, etc... on a standard definition satellite, but will not contain your local news.
Re: High def...I live in Rolla Mo. my zip is 65401, I get my locals out of Springfield Mo. I have Directv, Thanks
