Good morning welove24 -

Their are no known issues with the Carryout GM-1518 and any specific receiver, that should work just fine!

As always, we try to give too much information just so the customer does not come back later and we haven't told them something. I just want to make you aware that no dome system manufactured by any satellite company receives HD programming from DIRECTV. The domes work great for 101 and 119, but are unable to see 99/103. This is why we typically recommend the Winegard TRAV'LER which is capable of viewing those satellites.

Also, please be careful taking your DVR on the road. The hard drive in your DVR receiver is similar to that in a desktop computer... not a laptop. It is not meant to be jostled around and could possibly be damaged if powered during movement.

Like I said, more information than you probably need but I'd rather give you everything up front.

Thanks and enjoy your Carryout! You will be pleased!

We will not be useing our reciever while in motion, we have a pull type camper so it will be used at the campsite only, and our reciever is not an HD I don't believe, I never really seen paying extra for High def, I cant really tell the difference myself, so we should be good to go. Dose the 1518 sound like the one most suitable for our needs?

Absolutely.

Even if the receiver is HD, your going to be good to go. Perfect setup.

So now I am a bit confused, I guess my reciever is HD but I don't have the HD package, however some of my channels are HD,my locals, will I get my locals with this setup? I Checked out the travelers and the only one I seen that would work with direct was "EXPENSIVE" WAY OUT OF MY PRICE RANGE!! So now I am ot sure what to go with.

Yes, you can get your locals with this setup. If you are constantly traveling out of your spot-beam then you would need to get the national locals which can be obtained by filling out some forms with DIRECTV. Otherwise if you are near your home area, you can receive that spot beam.
