gm1518 with 3900 DN receiver problems

i was helping a friend that bought the gm1518 to take on camping trips. he is planning on using his 3900 model dishnetwork receiver that he subs with at home. everything was working fine when i started, i unhooked his receiver that was hooked up to a dish 500 with a leagsy dual lnb with a sw21 switch, i unhooked the lnb wire and done the check switch and cleared the receiver out for the carryout dish. i got the carryout dish working fine. when i tryed to hook his receiver back to his dish 500 it went crazy. when doing a check switch it will sometimes find sat 119 odd and even and 110 only odd. wont play all channels. did the gm1518 dish GEEK up the prosser in this receiver? any help would be greatly appericated.

That's an older model receiver I'm not very familiar with but changing the installed switch by the checkswitch test should not have a detrimental effect on the receiver as we do it with customers on a daily basis. I would have the customer confer with Dish Network and see if they may be able to be of assistance.

i hooked up a model 310 receiver without a sub on it and done a check switch and it found the sw21 and put 119 odd and even and 110 odd and even. there is no dought in my mind that the gm1518 changed something in the 3900 prossesor or the receiver bit the dust. however my friend would not be able to use it with both dish's. it will work with the gm1518. it picks up 119,110,129, odds and even transponders. thanks for your response.
