Thanks,

Re: Convert from DishNetwork To DirectTVconvert traveler sk-1000 to traveler sk-3005
Re: Convert from DishNetwork To DirectTVYes, but you will not be able to converter the unit, you will need to replace it. You can buy the new SK-3005 and remove the base plate from that unit, remove the SK-1000 from the base plate on the roof (disconnect the coax plus inside the base cover plate disconnect the control cable connection) and put the SK-3005 where the 1000 was. You can also swap out the new controller if you like. Now, package up the 1000 and the controller with all of the new hardware in the 3005 box and you have a complete used SK-1000 available for sale. It should go quickly and will offset the price you paid for the 3005.
I want to emphasis that there is NO upgrade path on this unit. If you had a 3005 and wanted to convert this to a 1000, that is possible but still costs almost $500 so you will not be much worse for wear if you follow my suggestions. Bill
