SK-1000 Question

Postby millerwr » Sun Jan 22, 2012 8:41 pm

I recently purchased an SK-1000 Trav'ler Antenna. Until I get it permanently mounted on my 2011 Keystone Montana 3400RL Fifth Wheel, I have mounted the antenna on a sheet of plywood which I will put up on the roof carefully while at a campsite (it's quite heavy), then take it back down when I leave. My question is when I get the antenna up on the roof of the fifth wheel and power the antenna up, once it locks onto the satellites, can I just unplug the power supply from the control box until I get ready to leave the camp site, then plug the power supply back in, and stow the antenna? Will the control box get messed up if I remove power then reconnect power? Thanks.

That will work just fine. In order to stow you will first have to hole the power button for a couple of seconds until it says "power on" and then release the button. If you did nothing at this point the antenna would go into a new peaking routine. If it is your intent to stow after powering back on you would then wait a couple of seconds and push and release the power button which will put the antenna into its stow mode.
