Trav'ler SK1000 in Mexico

Postby rocmoc » Sat Nov 05, 2011 10:58 am

Will the 1000 work in Mexico? I have used our portable units in the past so I know the signal in there. I also am aware a larger dish is required the further South into Mexico. My concern is will the GPS setup for the Trav'ler work in Mexico and sight on the sats.

Thank you,

The SK-1000 does not use GPS so that is not an issue. If the signal is there then the Trav'ler will find it. I suspect you won't be able to go very far but if you can get it with a standard Dish 1000 antenna then you should also be able to get it with the Trav'ler. If you can't set the antenna to tune to all 3 you might try going into the setup menu and manually selecting the 1 satellite you would really like. 119 for the majority of the SD programming and 129 for the majority of the HD programming. It you can't get them all, at least you should be able to get one at a time.
