I've got a good ol' Winegard model L-820A line amp/amplified splitter from a "few" years ago. It has worked very well in my old house until we moved 11 years ago. Now with adding two more TV connections in the upstairs bedrooms I fetched it out of its storage box home and will reuse it.

The signal strength has since dropped noticeably from typical losses in the added splitter, etc. after adding those drops. Snow is evident on the higher channels. I notice sometimes an over-the-air digital channel received by the cable company at its head end will occasionally drop completely out briefly or otherwise, as I term it, digitally "tear" as bits are lost in the received digital stream. It's on chan. 4 approx. 90 miles distant.

So, the point of this is that I would like tech data on the L-820A such as signal gains, actual usage of the Line Out vs. Amplified Splitter output (the L-820A has a switch on it to select which function the unit will operate), and other relevant tech stuff. Also, what is the low end cutoff frequency (is it less than 5 MHz? and if so, how far down?) I've long lost my Winegard catalogs/tech data from those days.

The L-820A has 6dB of gain between 54-890 MHz if used as a line amplifier. It has 2dB of gain as an amplified splitter. The unit requires -12VDC of power to power up the L-820A. Winegard no longer has -12VDC power supplies available. I would suggest that you consider a Winegard HDA-100 distribution amplifier for your system.
