boost and rotate

boost and rotateI have a new Winegard HD8200U antenna and want to put it on a tower next to my home replacing the old antenna. We are about 90 miles away from three of our local stations. We have received them pretty well for 30 years but it has become more of a problem since the switch to digital. I would like to install a preamplifier and antenna rotor. 1. It is my understanding that the Winegard model AP-8275 would be most appropriate for our needs. Correct?? 2. The only rotators I see on line are Channel Masters. There seem to be a number of complaints that they are not very well made. I wonder if they are heavy duty enough to handle an antenna the size of the HD8200U. I would like not to have to be replacing rotors frequently as this would be quite a chore. Any recommendations? thanks for any advice
Re: boost and rotateGood morning couchpotato,
Here is the response from technical services... The AP-8275 preamplifier would be the best choice if you do not have any TV channels less than 30 miles from you. As for the antenna rotor another option would be for you to purchase a light duty HAM antenna rotor designed to handle small HAM and TV antennas with 10 square feet of wind loading or less. The HD8200U only has approximately 2.0 square feet of wind loading so one of these type rotors should not have any issues handling the HD8200U antenna’s wind load.
