Sensar (Batwing) - In-line Amps
Date Modified: 2009-04-21

Question:
I have a Winegard RV antenna. I believe it's a Sensar and it's amplified. I recently changed to an HDTV in my motorhome. I used to be able to get a lot more analog channels in various locations, however they were sometimes degraded. The digital channels I get now are excellent, however in some locations where we set up we have difficulty getting digital (where we used to get analog) and since it's digital; it's either on or off. Is there anyway I can add an additional amplifier to that antenna system to boost the signal, or is there anyway in general to boost the signal in the RV?

Tech Tip:
You can not add more amplification to the system. An amplifier only helps you overcome what you are losing once you get the signal and unless you have more than 100 feet of coax or multiple splitters in the system an inline amplifier will not help you. The best way to increase your signal level is to get an antenna with more gain.
