We have a Winegard TRAV'LER dish and we are having an issue. When satellite dish is activated is the LNB arm supposed to stay tucked up against the satellite dish while it is searching? Ours searched for a long time and never could find a satellite.
No, the LNB is supposed to fold down and catch the signal that the dish reflects. If it is stuck up most likely the rubber bumpers are stuck to the dish. All that needs to be done is to pull the LNB away from the dish and it should start working. It should take very little force to free the arm if the rubber bumpers are indeed the issue. If it seems like you are applying quite a bit of force and the arm is not moving contact technical assistance.
