Sensar (Batwing) - Getting Loose
Date Modified: 2009-04-21

Question:
I have one of your batwing antennas on my motor home. It seems to be getting loose and I was wondering what it would take to tighten it up. I'm not sure if I need to go from the inside or outside to get to the nut holding it in. I'm not sure if I need a special tool to do the job, but if I do how much do they cost?

Tech Tip:

If the entire gear housing on the roof is loose then you will need to tighten the nut on the inside that holds the unit to the roof. If the nut does need to be tightened a deep well 15/16 socket is the tool you will need. If you can not get to the nut, the worm gear can be removed or we do have the dreaded special tool that is designed just for that purpose and it costs about $17.00.
