    How do I run a channel scan?

    Using the television remote, select “Menu.” Then, select “Channel Setup.” Select “Antenna” or “Off-Air Mode” or “Auto-scan,” depending on your TV. Select “Channel Search” or “Channel Scan.” Keep in mind that steps to perform a channel scan may vary. If the wording in your TV differs from the options shown, refer to your TV user manual for help. TIp: Running a channel scan is NOT the same as pressing Channel UP/DOWN on your remote.

    When do I need to run a channel scan?

    To receive maximum programming, you have to run a channel scan after setting up the antenna. To keep your channel line-up up-to-date, it is a good idea to run a channel scan monthly and anytime a channel is lost.

    How do I know where the signal is strongest?

    After connecting the coax cable from the FlatWave Mini antenna to the “Antenna In” port on the TV, run a channel scan. Try the antenna in different locations, making sure to run a channel scan every time you move the antenna. Finding TV signal is similar to cell phone coverage. Sometimes walking a few feet can make a difference. The less obstructions and the higher the antenna is mounted, the better chance of receiving a strong signal.

    The FlatWave Mini antenna is designed for major metropolitan areas. The antenna is also ideal for smaller living spaces such as apartments, condos, dorms, or offices.

    What channels can the FlatWave antenna receive?

    The FlatWave Mini antenna can receive programming from all of the major local broadcast networks (e.g. ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, PBS) plus additional networks (Qubo, ION, The CW, This TV, MyNetworkTV, Azteca, Telefutura, Univision, and Telemundo). The FlatWave Mini antenna can also receive local news, weather and educational programs that satellite and cable don’t offer.

    How can I find out what channels are broadcast in my area?

    Check out dtv.gov/maps. On this site, you can enter your address and get a listing of likely channels available in your area.

    How many channels will I receive with the FlatWave Mini antenna?

    The number of channels will vary from location to location. Generally speaking, if you live in or near a metropolitan area you will receive more channels than if you live outside a metropolitan area. Each location is different. Keep in mind that antenna reception may vary based on terrain (including trees, buildings, hills and mountains). The fewer obstructions, the better your chance for receiving strong digital signal.

    Do I need to pay for programming?

    No—local programming received through an over-the-air antenna is free!

    Does the FlatWave Mini antenna work with any TV?

    The FlatWave Mini antenna works with any TV or device that has an ATSC tuner. Devices that have built-in ATSC tuners include TVs, laptops, PCs, some satellite receivers, and digital recording devices (DVRs).
    TIp: Any television manufactured after March 1, 2007 is required by U.S. government to have an ATSC tuner. If your TV menu has an option for scanning for digital channels, then your television has an ATSC tuner.

    Can I connect the FlatWave Mini antenna to multiple televisions?

    The signal should only be split between multiple TVs if using an amplified antenna or amplifier. The Boost amplifier by Winegard (sold separately) will enable you to connect a non-amplified antenna to multiple televisions.

    How do I set up the FlatWave Mini antenna?

    1. Place the antenna in the desired location.
    2. Connect the coax cable coming from the FlatWave Mini antenna to the “Antenna In” coax port on your TV.
    3. Run a channel scan.

    Where should I mount the antenna?

    Hang the antenna on a window or a wall, or lay it flat on a table. For maximum reception, point the antenna at the broadcast tower of stations you want to receive. Keep in mind that digital signal may bounce off of objects. Run a channel scan each time you reposition the antenna, and mount the antenna wherever you receive the strongest signal.

    Is there anywhere that the antenna shouldn’t be mounted?

    The antenna is designed for indoor use only. The FlatWave Mini antenna is not meant to be mounted outdoors or in the attic.

    What are the dimensions of the FlatWave Mini antenna?

    The element is 7.25″ (height) x 9.25″ (width) and is only ~.02″ thick. The housing is .6″ thick.

    What color is the FlatWave Mini antenna?

    The antenna is black on one side and white on the other side.

    90 DAY LIMITED WARRANTY

    Winegard Company warrants this Winegard product against any defects in materials or workmanship within 90 (ninety) days from date of purchase. No warranty claim will be honored unless at the time the claim is made, you present proof of purchase to an authorized Winegard dealer (if unknown, please contact Winegard Company, 3000 Kirkwood Street, Burlington, IA 52601-2000, Telephone 800-288-8094).

    Winegard Company (at its option) will either repair or replace the defective product at no charge to you. This warranty covers parts, but does not cover any costs incurred in removal, shipping or reinstallation of the product. This limited warranty does not apply if the product is damaged, deteriorates, malfunctions or fails from: misuse, improper installation, abuse, neglect, accident, tampering, modification of the product as originally manufactured by Winegard, usage not in accordance with product instructions or acts of nature such as damage caused by wind, lightning, ice or corrosive environments such as salt spray and acid rain.

    The 90 Day Warranty is provided on the condition that the equipment is properly delivered with all handling and freight charges prepaid to your Winegard dealer for return to our factory for repair or replacement. Winegard dealers will arrange for the replacement or repair and return to you without charge the product which failed due to defective material or workmanship.

    WINEGARD COMPANY WILL NOT ASSUME ANY LIABILITIES FOR ANY OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, MADE BY ANY OTHER PERSON.

    ALL OTHER WARRANTIES WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND MERCHANTABILITY ARE LIMITED TO THE 90-DAY PERIOD OF THIS WARRANTY.

    The foregoing shall be the sole and exclusive remedy of any person, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, and Winegard shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damage or commercial loss, or from any other loss or damage except as set forth above.

    Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion of limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.

    This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
