Randy Winegard, son of founder John Winegard, is the Chief Executive Officer of Winegard Company, a family owned multi-million dollar business located in Burlington, Iowa.
Prior to Randy taking the helm in 1977, when his father retired, Winegard Company was solely invested in designing and manufacturing traditional over-the-air residential TV antennas, mounts and accessories. Randy's relentless desire to challenge his leadership team to seek out new opportunities has resulted in the company expanding into the satellite television and commercial 2-way VSAT real-time broadband technologies, while maintaining a focus on terrestrial antenna technologies. This in turn has paved the way to new markets for home, recreational vehicle (RV), trucking, automotive, tailgating, marine, medical, military, emergency response and oil, gas & shale drilling industries, not only in the U.S., but abroad. With the same entrepreneurial spirit as his father, Randy has been the driving force in making Winegard a respected world leader in the antenna industry.
Winegard Company originated in John Winegard's garage and 60 years later, the company encompasses over 235,000 sq ft of manufacturing, office and warehouse space in Burlington with another 171,000 sq ft expansion project in process. The new north facility is scheduled to open end of 2013, allowing the company to meet growing demand. There are also off-site engineer offices in Quincy and Elgin Illinois that total 45,000 sq ft.
Randy's vision for growth and development isn't just limited to Winegard Company. He is well known throughout Burlington and southeast Iowa communities for his support to schools, churches, athletics, colleges and new business development. He has originated numerous real estate developments including the Spirit Hollow Golf Course and Residential Complex, along with many distinctive restaurants, hotels, and family entertainment establishments such as Fun City and Catfish Bend Casino and Resort.
