Winegard Company is led by President and CEO, Randy Winegard, the son of founder John Winegard. Winegard took the helm in 1977 when his father retired. At that time the business was solely invested in manufacturing traditional over-the-air TV antennas, mounts and accessories.
With the same entrepreneurial spirit as his father, Randy continually seeks new opportunities and is always challenging his leadership team to raise the bar to adapt to ever-changing market and consumer needs. Under his direction, the company has leveraged its competence in antenna design and manufacture to serve new applications and industries in satellite and over-the-air signal reception. Today Winegard is a leading producer of television and satellite antennas for the home, RV, automotive, trucking, tailgating, and marine markets. The company also provides antennas solutions for the medical telemetry and commercial VSAT markets.
In addition to the countless awards and recognition Winegard Company has received under Randy's direction, he personally was named "Distinguished Citizen" by the Des Moines County Boy Scouts of America. Years earlier, the distinguished "Emmy Award" was given to John and Randy Winegard by the Burlington/West Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce.
Randy is known for his generosity to those in the Burlington community and surrounding areas. He supports local schools, churches, athletics, businesses, community and state colleges and has been instrumental in bringing new businesses to the southeast Iowa region. Winegard's vision for growth and development extends outside of Winegard Company; he has launched numerous real estate developments including the Spirit Hollow Golf Course and Residential Complex, , as well as restaurants, hotels, and family entertainment establishments such as Fun City and Catfish Bend Casino and Resort.
